Lanu featured on new Miss Dior advert

Lanu, AKA Lance Ferguson of The Bamboos, released his sophomore album last year - full of luscious meliodies and dream pop, the album has garnered a lot of attention from various advertising and sync agencies. This new sync from Miss Dior uses 'Roosevelt Blues feat. Megan Washington' to accompany the 'Miss Dior Floral Waltz' video. The short film is anchored with the text, "Flowers are the best narrators of Miss Dior, whether they be jasmine, rose, or orange blossom. Watch them twirl and bloom into ribbon-tied bouquets in this new animated film.". With almost half a million views in it's first few days we are certain that this commercial will be a success and are pleased to part of the campaign with Lanu.

Last year Lanu's Beautiful Trash was used on Chase Manhattan's Saphire Card Campaign, you can watch the video for that commercial here.

Full Thought publish Lance Ferguson's material as Lanu, The Bamboos and Cookin' On 3 Burners, so get in contact if you are interested in using any of his tracks - mail@fullthought.co.uk

Wrongtom meets Deemas J album out today

The day in finally upon us, Wrongtom and Deemas J's 'In East London' is out today on Tru Thoughts. The essential reggae, dancehall and dub fuelled LP has a deep, fresh and bouncing vibe that pays homage to the culture and sound that first got them both hooked back in the ‘80s.

Opener “Old Time Stylee” sets the scene, with Deemas J telling the story of how he started out in jungle soundclashes and dancehalls, and paying tribute to the Labyrinth club – the original hub of Caribbean culture that is now, in Tom’s words “the site of some soulless new build flats, the sanitary scourge which for many is laying waste to dirty old London’s rich rhythmical topography”. The overriding upbeat, celebratory tone of the album is reflected in the artwork, its themes captured in fine style by legendary illustrator Tony McDermott, who also created the artwork for ‘Duppy Writer’, and historically was responsible for the look of legendary reggae and dancehall label Greensleeves; his famous cartoon covers becoming synonymous with dub records by Scientist and Mad Professor in the early ‘80s.

So, drop the needle and come join the party as Wrongtom meets Deemas J… in East London.

Full Thought publish 'In East London' so give us a shout if you are interested in hearing or using the material - mail@fullthought.co.uk.

Kylie Auldist on new Aldo Vanucci track

Kylie Auldist features on the new track from party starter Aldo Vanucci. Set to be released on 24th September, the 'Love Is Loops' EP starts with “You’re All Show”, where Kylie Auldist lends her sublime vocals. In this track she lyrically tears down some unfortunate individual who has been showing out a little too much.

Aldo has gained respect in the production community for his work as a beat maker and sample finder for dance icons like Fatboy Slim through to hip-pop kids Rizzle Kicks. And of course for being Plymouth’s 14th best DJ. That accolade must never be forgotten.

Full Thought are publishing Kylie's share on this track so get in touch if you are looking to use it (mail@fullthought.co.uk). Listen to the track below.

Yannah Valdevit - 'Equilibrium' OUT NOW

Yannah Valdevit's ‘Equilibrium’ is out today on Tru Thoughts; it is the debut solo LP from Croatian singer, songwriter, producer and pianist Yannah Valdevit, co-produced by long-time collaborator and mentor Zed Bias.

Yannah takes an inventive approach to song structure, using her voice in unconventional and multi-layered patterns – another instrument in the mix alongside cutting edge beats, jazz inflections, melodic hooks and lush string arrangements. The emotive style nods to the Balearic sound she perfected in a previous incarnation as part of Eddy Meets Yannah (who released three successful albums on Compost between 2003 and 2010). With UK garage and dubstep pioneer Zed Bias (aka Maddslinky) on board, it would be easy to assume the killer basslines and beats on ‘Equilibrium’ were his work; in fact, Yannah – a highly in-demand producer in her own right – built this sound from the ground up. While the man like Bias donated his legendary beat-making skills to two tracks on the album, his main role was to add that magic touch with a nuanced and soulful mix-down at his Manchester studio.

Buy it now from iTunes, Amazon, Juno or direct from the Etch Shop.
