New Signing: Renegade Brass Band

We are pleased to announce that we have signed Renegade Brass Band to Full Thought Publishing.

Combining 8 horns with 2 percussionists, scratch DJ and MC, the band mixes jazz, funk and hip-hop with a raw brass sound and high energy live show. Since the band began in late 2009, it has built a reputation for blistering live shows - RBB has played shows at venues around the UK, including slots alongside the likes of The Nextmen, DJ Vadim, Jehst, Homecut, The Correspondents, Kidkanevil and Ms. Dynamite. Over the last two years, RBB has also played festival shows at Secret Garden Party, Manchester International Jazz Festival, Kendal Calling, Tramlines and Soundwave Croatia.

The band are currently working on new original material for release in early 2013, as well as working on a number of collaborations, including live band shows with Harleighblu and Rodney P, Nick Pride and The Pimptones, live horns for a side-project with Diesler, and a remix for hip-hop heavyweights The Herbaliser. In the coming months, these will result in releases for labels including Tru Thoughts, Record Kicks, and The Herbaliser’s own label, Department H.

Their latest single is OUT TODAY and features Take No Chances, Make No Changes (Lack Of Afro Remix) and Take No Chances, Make No Changes (Diesler Remix). You can purchase now from their Bandcamp.

Natural Self - Neon Hurts My Eyes (OUT NOW)

Neon Hurts My Eyes’, out now, is Natural Self’s fourth album. Three years in the making, the LP unveils a striking departure for the producer and DJ as he takes on the role of singer-songwriter fully for the first time.

His inventive sonic landscape, a highly poised confection of beats, bleeps and noises drawn from a vast textural palette, is now more redolent of Radiohead and the Beta Band; while a tight, melodic pop-but-not-pop sensibility aligns the songs with Little Dragon or James Blake. Having previously enlisted guest singers including Andreya Triana for main vocals, here Natural Self lays himself bare. Immersive and synth-heavy, this is electronic music with warmth and heart, a sense of being at once futuristic and nostalgic as it explores themes of technology, the environment, the passing of time and our place in the world.
