The Bamboos announce Fever In The Road

Exciting news everyone, this year sees The Bamboos release a brand new album. The Australian group, led by the inimitable Lance Ferguson, are set to release their 6th studio album Fever In The Road on November 8th in Australia (worldwide release details to come). You can watch a trailer for the album below.

The new record the sees the band venturing into sonic landscapes they have previously touched on but never fully inhabited. There is a sense that the music is leaner and more muscular, yet upon closer inspection the tracks reveal themselves to be densely multi-layered in a 'Wall Of Sound' style. And it's this aural complexity and depth that allows darker moods to roam through the album, taking their sound to a new place.

Tha band have also announced anounced a set of dates to launch the album, they include:

Fri 29 NOV – The Hi Fi, Brisbane ON SALE NOW
Sat 30 NOV – The Factory, Sydney ON SALE NOW
Thu 5 DEC – The Capitol, Perth ON SALE NOW
Fri 6 DEC – The Gov, Adelaide ON SALE NO
Sat 7 DEC – The Forum, Melbourne ON SALE WE

Youngblood Brass Band - Pax Volumi (OUT TODAY)

The Youngblood Brass Band's new album, Pax Volumi, is out today. The release perfectly showcases the nine piece ensemble's unique blend of hip hop, brass band, improv & punk music. The album comes in a busy year of touring, having played sold-out headlines across Europe and the USA.

Youngblood Brass Band flouts convention in an ecstatic, raucous, incendiary fashion, taking the form of a New Orleans brass band and morphing it into a punked-out hip-hop behemoth of groove and purpose. The ten-member ensemble, born in Madison, Wisconsin, now hails from all over the US (Madison, Brooklyn, Nashville, Minneapolis, Chicago) and has been unleashing their crash course in genre-bending on stages worldwide since 2000.

Their first album in 5 years sees the band partnering with Tru Thoughts, and the pairing couldn’t be more apt. This album sees the band finally achieving not just its musical but its production aims, capturing the live intensity of the stage as well as crafting beats and rhymes that bang right out of the speakers.
