Alice Russell - For A While (OUT NOW)

For A While’ is out today, it is the third single to be lifted from Alice Russell’s latest album ‘To Dust’ - the digital single is backed with a synth-heavy remix from rising LA based producer Lost Midas.

In combining the vocal prowess and raw emotional potency of classic soul with a forward-looking and experimental openness, Alice Russell has become known as a true breath of fresh air. “For A While” sees Russell and producer TM Juke drawing on their eclectic influences for a song that pushes the boundaries of soul music. Introduced by a lilting keyboard bassline, the attention-grabbing, boogie-inducing track builds with multi-layered vocals and a volley of melodic hooks, calling to mind gospel choirs and ‘90s R ‘n’ B groups in equal measure.

Rongorock Publishing: Mark Professor - Oystah Card

Full Thought Publishing is pleased to announce a partnership with Wrongtom's own imprint Rongorock, we will be taking the publishing reins on some of the releases. In the tradition of classic producer labels like King Tubby’s Firehouse and Winston Riley’s Techniques, Wrongtom has set up his own label to showcase his reggae and dancehall production work with various vocalists starting here with London sound system veteran Mark Professor... which is OUT NOW!

Further indulging his love for 80’s dancehall vinyl, Wrongtom has turned out a rhythm track with a nod to old Volcano and Fashion Records productions, perfectly underlining Mark Professor’s timeless flow, informed by decades of collecting and selecting vinyl as well as rocking mics for the likes of Stereocity Soundsystem, Trojan Explosion, and currently with East London’s diamond in the rough Wreck It Up Crew.

And don't just take our word for it, here's what the pros have to say about it:

“As a card carrying member and a bass-line defender I can highly recommend Mark Professor’s Oystah Card....Top Up!” Don Letts (BBC 6Music)

“Sweet Smiley Culture style celebration of modern mobility.” John Kennedy (Xfm)

"Hugely catchy" MOJO

NEW SIGNING: Lost Midas

Here at Full Thought Publishing we are extremely pleased to announce the signing of rising LA based producer Jason Trikakis, also known as Lost Midas.

Lost Midas's music is a trip through electronic textures, wrapped around hip hop beats and dreamlike melodies. With influences ranging from a lifelong love of pop melodies and the ‘80s New Wave through J. Dilla to The Mahavishnu Orchestra, LA based producer and multi-instrumentalist Lost Midas treads an aesthetic turf somewhere between Neon Indian and Bibio; irresistible and enduring ditties peeped through a shifting shroud of striking textures and idiosyncratic beats. His music has already received heavy support from the likes of Lauren Laverne and Nemone on BBC 6Music and Los Angeles’ KCRW

Lost Midas' debut release will be the “Memory Flux” EP on Tru Thoughts, set to be unleashed on the 2nd September. But you can get a taste of Lost Midas' irresistible beats below, with a video and download of the transcendent track 'Love Undone' feat. Taylor O’Donnell (via EarMilk [link] ).
