Flevans is the alias of Brighton based producer Nigel Evans. His infectious hooks and dancefloor-delighting beats have featured on a number of Tru Thoughts releases. Natural Self - New Single & Album Launch

‘Machine’ / ‘The Valleys’, is the first official single from Natural Self’s upcoming album ‘Neon Hurts My Eyes’, which follows in March, unveiling a striking departure for the producer and DJ as he takes on the role of singer-songwriter fully for the first time.

Natural Self's new material is a mix of dynamic beats, imaginative structures and impishly offbeat vocals. The first track from his new album, Red Wire Blue Wire, was premiered with KCRW radio play and an online Clash feature to widespread praise from tastemakers, blogs and music fans, sparking much anticipation for more new material.

To celebrate his new album, Natural Self is having a launch party at Severant Jazz Quarters in Dalston, London on 19th March, this will be the first time these songs have been played live. The venue is only small so if you want to guarantee entry sign up for a free ticket. More information here.

Alice Russell @ Maida Vale tomorrow

We're counting down the days until the new Alice Russell albums comes out, and it looks like everyone else is just as excited as us. As part of the 6 Music Live at Maida Vale Alice will be performing on the Craig Charles show, he's billed the show as celebrating "the very best in funk and soul with classic tracks and session". So tune in at 4:30pm tomorrow (9th February) to hear the live session.

Furthermore we have a new track from To Dust, originally premiered by Clash Magazine, you can now grab a free download of ‘Twin Peaks’ (below) lifted from the new album, out February 25th. It was also Lauren Laverne’s MPFree of the Day via the BBC 6 Music website.

New Mark de Clive-Lowe out today

We're pleased to announce that the new Mark de Clive-Lowe album is in the shops. ‘Take The Space Trane’, released on Tru Thoughts, is the new album from producer, composer and musician Mark de Clive-Lowe in collaboration with the Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra. Joining forces for the first time here, they deliver big orchestral jazz grooves with a nod to club productions for a modern, experimental take on the big band sound. The LP brings together cuts from across MdCL’s prolific career, some covers, along with some  bespoke compositions which are published by Full Thought.
