London Posse - Gangster Chronicles (OUT TODAY)

Gangster Chronicles: The Definitive Collection’, the London Posse’s game changing 1990 LP ‘Gangster Chronicle’ repackaged and augmented with a comprehensive selection of exclusive, previously unheard tracks, and eclectic, cutting-edge remixes including the handiwork of Steve Mason, Wrongtom, The Nextmen, Hint and Drumagick is out now.

This album moved UK hip hop to the next level, presenting a vivid depiction of London street life that put the listeners THERE on the street next to Bionic and Rodney P. No-one else was really repping the street life to this extent – the lyrical content showed a striking attention to detail, possibly because it was inspired by real-life street runnings.

Ty - Kick Snare And An Idea Pt.2 (OUT NOW)

The next installment of Ty's "Kick Snare And An Idea” (#AKSAAI) is out now on Tru Thoughts. The second of two singles by Ty, this package brings two more new songs.

The opening track is “Let’s Start” (added to both MTV Base and BBC 6 Music playlists); the last single announced Ty’s bold intentions, and this track continues the proactive, frank and forward-looking message that has captured the public’s attention. The theme is set over a unique groove, a built-up arrangement that is neither fast nor slow, cuts are provided by Harry Love.

The second track, “Well Well Well” is a tribal 4-to-the-floor musical experiment; out-there inventive, yet with a supremely catchy, breezy feel. Collaborators on this exciting track include drummer Richard Spaven (Flying Lotus/4Hero/Jose James/Cinematic Orchestra), Joy Jones on co-vocals and Jason Yarde (Manu Dibango/Plan B) on horns. “It’s me breaking from the norm”, says Ty; “One Verse, One Message Overall, One Human Race.”

Fans should expect to hear more from Ty, today he announced: "Last night, I slept on the studio floor with my sleeping bag...because I've gotta get this music done, I've gotta get this album in the bag!", so expect to hear more from the prolific and critically acclaimed artist in the near future.

Marcus Intalex - META008 now out on Metalheadz

Marcus Intalex signals his long overdue return with META008 which features both “Riots” & “Hell To Pay", two outings that illustrate why Marcus is still deservedly regarded as one of the Drum and Bass scene's most important ambassadors. Marcus' productions are renowned for pushing boundaries whilst retaining broad appeal, an innovator and a pioneer of the genre.

Riots” kicks things off with a driving, gritty hard-edged dark stepper carried perfectly by a heavy helping of splashy rides and low-end grunt, steadily building and rolling in combination to devastating effect Marcus provides a soundscape which is reflective of the title itself. A tune that looks back to London’s troublesome past by taking “Riots” of the streets and transferring them straight to the dance floor.

Hell to Pay” features a very healthy nod to the past in bang up to minute standard. All of the golden elements are here that defined the early tech era – Heavy tech stabs, plenty of reese and a massive helping of live drums – Everything that is right about this sound is found right here in perfect balance. Elements that are tried tested and in this case perfect!

You can listen to the tracks below, then head out to your nearest record store or head to the Metalheadz Shop. Full Thought publish Marcus Intalex and his house leaning alias Trevino, so get in touch if you're interested in using any of his material - mail@fullthought.co.uk
